Smoking, drinking, eating and use of cell phones while driving is forbidden. Use of lights is compulsory all day long
The highway toll is paid in form of a vignette bought on-line.
To avoid problems with the police remember to carry all your documents (ID, driving license, technical license), have the seat belt attached, do not drive too fast, never drink before the trip, do not drive on the wrong side of the road and park your car only where allowed. When hearing the ambulance or the fire department slow down, move your car to the side and let them pass.

Parking
It is not easy to find a parking place in Bratislava. It is advised to avoid crossed parking spaces, since those are reserved for residents.
Parking in the center - from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. you need to pay for the ticket:
At the parking meter: Minimum ticket for 90 min/ 2,90 €. The daily rate is 8€/day .

Car registration

Generally, it is possible to register imported cars from EU and some other countries. It is not possible to register right hand-driven cars. Request more information at the Ministry of Interior: infoppz@minv.sk. Don't forget to give your name, address and clearly specify your request.
